Drawing Daily - Day 20

Drawing daily, day 20 after starting to draw again
3 Drawings made on the day 20 of returning to art

Today I realized it’s true, there are better days than others.

I talked about my return to the Art Medium, and in 20 days, there hasn’t been much movement in social media numbers, and I don’t mind it, I know that it takes time.

There are a lot of users posting, and that may be discouraging, but for artists, I think it’s even helpful.

Let me explain: Since I can see daily art thanks to all the artists posting it, I can get some ideas to draw myself.

I can get inspired by their work, and I can study their technique. Art is continual evolution, and I can see that in my work already.

I revisited old drawings that I made for my Instagram, and said, Well, I like these artists, adding part of what I liked about them to my work; it’s a valid test.

That was the theme of the day, with the drawings on top of this blog.

The Day of the Death Illustration

For the first one, starting on the left since Day of the Death is close by, I made an illustration with a few of those elements, and I tried just coloring and making shadows a little different.

I know how to color and shadow, at least the core concepts, but since I was in a mindset of “Falling” due to focusing on numbers, and because I had finished my tiny art project about Halloween Cats.

I just watched a video about shading by @pikat, I’m going to be honest, if someone asks me about learning art and such, my heart is with Marco Bucci and his tutorials, since I have years of knowing them. But that’s just a comment; I have nothing against Pikat, and something fresh always works.

For that one, I was thinking — Ok, let’s just focus on something you want to practice — I would love to draw pieces with more movement, so I decided to try that and to change my approach, just using some flow, treating the hands like boxes, things that would help me understand the position in 3D on the pieces on the drawing.

Sure, it was tiring, I didn’t finish it, but I like the way it ended, and I also need a “Happy Drawing”

There are some poses recurrent to me, and that are part of my “comfort zone”, so knowing today is to practice, more than to get followers or live the art. I use a simple pose, not a lot of accessories, and simple clothes.

My mission was to train again shadows and coloring, since my last work didn’t give me that feeling that it was “good”
